Founder's Bio

Lumen Funds is founded by Steve Yu, CFA.  Before founding Lumen Funds, Steve was a Portfolio Manager at The Tarbox Group, a Worth Magazine Top 250 wealth manager located in Newport Beach, California.  While working at The Tarbox Group, Steve and two other team members managed investment portfolios for high-net worth individuals and families.  Currently, Steve also serves as Senior Portfolio Manager for a family office.  From 1997 through 2010, discretionary, unleveraged portfolios returned an average of 12.5% annually after fees vs. 3.8% for the S&P 500.  The volatility of these portfolios was below that of the S&P500.  The portfolios are long-only.
